For Thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory Forever and Ever. Amen. This Sunday we celebrate the end of our series on the Lord’s Prayer and the end of my time as your pastor. I pray this will not be a time of sorrow but a time of celebration. I am in no way Jesus nor would I ever claim to be, but when I think about leaving and the end of the Lord’s Prayer I think about the disciples at the Ascension of Jesus. Their leader is going. It is not traumatic like at the crucifixion, but a knowing and understanding that their ministry is beginning anew. Join me this Sunday to celebrate all that we have done together and give praise and thanksgiving to God for all that God will continue to do. – Rev. Shannon Weston’s sermon from August 18, 2024.
